Alice in a Bio-diverse Wonderland

Created by the Year 6 Students, Mr. Correy’s Class

Step into a magical world where art meets nature! Inspired by Alice in Wonderland, this recycled sculpture celebrates the beauty and variety of life in our natural world.

Why Wonderland?

Just like Alice’s adventures, nature is full of surprises, patterns, and creatures hiding in plain sight. The oversized toadstools and bright colours invite you to imagine what lives beneath the forest floor, reminding us of the biodiversity that keeps our planet alive.

Why Biodiversity?

  • Toadstools are nature’s recyclers, helping forests stay healthy.
  • We used recycled insulation foam and fallen silver birch logs to show how discarded materials can have a second life.
  • Every painted cap is unique, just like every species in nature!

A Special Dedication

This piece celebrates Mr. Correy, who is retiring after over 30 years of inspiring teaching. The students included a nod to his passion for learning with “The Fountain of Knowledge” and hidden Wonderland details.
