Echoes of Colour
The Friendship Group at The Alice Cross Centre
Inspired by the work of Wassily Kandinsky, Echoes of Colour explores colour, shape and pattern through a joyful collaborative process.
Created by members of the Friendship Group at The Alice Cross Centre, the piece uses discarded CDs and scraps of foam — everyday materials given a new purpose through colour and creativity.
Each individual element contributes to the whole, reflecting the nature of the group itself: different colours, shapes and personalities coming together, connecting and creating something greater.
As the recycled CDs catch and reflect the changing light, the sculpture shifts with its surroundings — a celebration of creativity, connection, friendship and the possibilities found in things others might throw away.
